Copperbelt & Beyond
Makhaya Zambia
Specialist industrial services delivered by a permanent in-country team — engineered for Zambia's mining, smelting, processing and commercial operators.
Makhaya Zambia keeps trained technicians, supervision and purpose-built equipment positioned full-time on Zambian soil. From the Copperbelt and North-Western Province through Lusaka, Ndola and Mazabuka, our crews are ready to mobilise to copper mines, smelters, processing plants, cement works, sugar mills, breweries, FMCG manufacturers and commercial sites — without the lead time of flying contractors in from elsewhere.
For a long time, operators across Zambia's industrial sector — copper most of all — have had to import specialist contractors from South Africa or further afield, absorbing the cost and downtime that comes with it. Makhaya Zambia is built to remove that gap. Crew, kit and supervision live locally, so you get the discipline, safety culture and project execution of a top-tier contractor with the response time of a neighbour.
What we deliver
Industrial services available across Zambia
The full Makhaya Zambia service catalogue is available to operators country-wide. Our largest offering is high- and ultra-high-pressure water jetting, but every discipline below is delivered to the same standard, often packaged as a single shutdown scope.

Industries served
Built around copper — extended across the economy
Copper mining, milling, concentration, smelting, refining and the associated acid plants make up the backbone of Makhaya Zambia's portfolio. Beyond copper we work across cement, sugar, breweries, agri-processing, FMCG manufacturing, hospitality, retail, commercial property and general industrial maintenance.
Why operators choose us
Equipment, crew and mobilisation — all three
Three things decide whether a specialist contractor performs on a Zambian site: the equipment is ready, the crew is capable, and mobilisation is fast. Makhaya Zambia covers all three. Our fleet is in-country and built for industrial duty, our technicians are certified and experienced rather than casual hire, and because we already sit on the Copperbelt we mobilise to shutdown-day timing — not after a week of customs and travel.
HSE on Zambian sites
Zambia's major mining houses run their HSE programmes to international standards. KCM, Mopani and FQM in particular expect full method statements, risk assessments, JSAs, lock-out/tag-out documentation and integrated permit-to-work plans before any contractor sets foot on plant. Makhaya Zambia's documented systems are designed to clear those gates, and our supervisors know the contractor onboarding process at every major Copperbelt and North-Western site. The target is straightforward: zero HSE incidents, zero unplanned stoppages and clean sign-off at the end of every scope.
Shutdown discipline
Every Zambian operator works to a shutdown calendar, and every overrun day carries a real production cost. Makhaya Zambia's project supervisors plan cleaning, lining and coating scopes inside the broader shutdown plan, sequence crews and equipment to clear bottlenecks, and protect the work window so other trades don't get pushed back. Scope on time, mechanical reassembly on schedule, plant back to plan.
Cross-border execution
Years of running contracts between South Africa and Zambia mean equipment movement, customs paperwork, work permits, accommodation and crew rotation are all handled in-house by our project administration team. The operator gets a single point of accountability, predictable mobilisation and a contractor that doesn't get caught out by border logistics.
One contractor, multiple scopes
Most operators benefit from packaging multiple specialist scopes — surface prep, lining, coating, insulation, fireproofing, scaffolding, sheeting — through one contractor instead of splitting across smaller subcontractors. Makhaya Zambia delivers them as one project, with one safety plan, one project supervisor and one accountable interface.
